CHETAN PARMAR LL.B (Hons)

Lincolnfields thrives through the experience of specialists

Chet is an experienced workplace investigator with expertise in conducting investigations into misconduct and complaints of inappropriate behaviour.

Compliance and employee conduct specialist

With a career spanning two decades, Chet has extensive expertise in legal and compliance, conduct risk management and investigations from his roles with prominent investment banks ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank and Santander. Chet’s background has equipped him with a deep understanding of internal processes and functions within organisations and he is adept at collaborating and communicating with key stakeholders.

In recognition of the unease which is often experienced by individuals involved in an investigative process, Chet prioritises effective communication and employs an attentive listening approach to build trust and rapport with those involved.

Legal and Compliance professional

Chet started his career in the City working at the investment bank ABN AMRO. There, he trained as a solicitor and subsequently as Legal Counsel, he provided legal support and advice to the Global Markets division focussing on drafting documentation for financial services products.

Later, Chet moved to Deutsche Bank in London as a Vice President and Compliance Officer where he advised the Global Markets division on compliance matters related to complex equities transactions. When Deutsche Bank expanded its presence in the Middle East, Chet joined the compliance department in Dubai where he managed a team and provided compliance advice across five jurisdictions for eight legal entities and was promoted to Director.

Conduct and Culture specialist

Due to the Financial Conduct Authority’s increased focus on conduct and culture, Chet joined Santander’s investment banking division in London as an Executive Director to create a new department responsible for overseeing the bank’s conduct risk and culture framework. He led the Conduct Oversight and Reputational Risk team within the Compliance Department and put into place safeguards to prevent incidents related to conduct and reputational risk.

In this role, Chet investigated employee misconduct allegations and developed a passion for investigations. He managed a broad range of investigations ranging from code of conduct and internal policy breaches to cases of inappropriate personal behaviour such as bullying and discrimination, reported through whistleblowing procedures or other channels.
